Interns earn an hourly wage, and funds paid to the intern are considered taxable income.ĭuring academic semesters, the student devotes eight hours a week to the internship, schedule to be determined based on the student’s class commitments, from October 2022 to May 2023 (excluding holidays, fall, winter and spring breaks). The internships are designed to give Scripps students exposure to the fields of art handling, collections management and conservation.

Field trips with former Director Mary MacNaughton have included visits to the Museum of Latin American Art, the Broad Art Foundation, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Getty, and the UCLA Hammer Museum of Art, where the interns have interviewed curators, critics, and conservators.
